Aunty V
In 2010 V’s life changed and she went to work as a casual employee at a doggy daycare and kennel, and has been working with animals ever since. She loves all breeds but admits to a fascination with Pitbulls and can never resist a cute cross. Not many people know that V has been a police reservist for 19 years, and she founded her own rescue organisation called Awesome Paws. She is mom to a few rescue dogs that were too damaged to go back out into the world after being rescued from awful situations but she wouldn’t change them for anything. Before falling in love with the animal kingdom, V worked for a major retailer in Loss Prevention and Risk Management.
Alf
Alf has been a groomer for 14 years now, working in many vet practices and grooming parlours. When he is not at The Fluffia he works in the community, helping to rescue and care for sick and injured animals. His favourite breed is Schnauzers and at the moment Alf has a cat, Sir Grey, and a dog, Mufasa. He has had pets since he was a small child and wouldn’t be without one!
Lizelle
I have always wanted to work with animals so I was thrilled to join The Fluffia! I previously worked with a lady named Aunty Yolanda that also had lots of dogs and, when she opened her new pet shop, I joined her there. She asked me if I wanted to do a Groomer’s course and I very happily agreed, and completed it in 2017. I was so lucky to have someone like her helping me to fulfil my dreams. I love my work and I love all dogs – they don’t hurt humans and are always so loving!
Dorothy
Growing up we didn’t have pets but I always dreamed of having one to play with and care for, so this job is a dream come true. Previously I worked as a domestic worker then later upgraded to being a nanny and an Au pair. Looking after kids is very rewarding but they grow up!
The last family I worked for had a toy Pomeranian called Peanut. I loved his lively and playful nature and he always made me smile. Small dogs are my favourite, especially Pomeranians because they are so tiny and cute, just like little babies.
Carley
The Fluffia founder and owner
For too many years, Carley used groomers and parlours that did not put the comfort and well-being of her dogs first. Hating how they were so traumatised after trips to parlours, she set out to create a doggie parlour with a difference with the focus on a calming experience. Carley is very much a “roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty” kind of business owner and day to day manager. She is always ready to listen to dogs and their owners, striving to give them the services and value-added experience they want and expect from their grooming parlour.
Carley is mom to two Yorkie fur babies Mila and Lilly, and to baby Emily. All three are regulars at The Fluffia.
Lilly
Lilly, aka Turtle, turns 7 this year. She is utterly obsessed with tennis balls. In fact, she has the remarkable skill of tracing them hidden in random drawers! She snores like a man, eats as much as one too and is as loyal as they come. She is particularly protective over infants – a faithful little character.
Mila
Our grey-haired Yorkie with the sweetest soul. The absence of her front tooth doesn’t detract from her gorgeous little face. She walks on 3 paws when she doesn’t care for the texture of grass under her little feet and her ultimate hobby is barking at anyone passing.
