Terms and Conditions
At The Fluffia, we have certain guidelines in place for the safety of your pet as well as our staff. Please note the following terms and conditions. It is assumed that, when you book your pet in, you are aware of and agree to these terms and conditions.
- Pet history – please provide a thorough breakdown of your pet’s health issues, allergies or behaviour that may be relevant. This is important and gives us a clear overview before we begin.
- Your dog/cat needs to be fit and healthy. Grooming of a sick or elderly pet is entirely at the owner’s risk. Please note that grooming may expose underlying skin or health issues for which we cannot be held liable.
- The pet must be up to date on all vaccinations. We have the right to refuse unvaccinated animals.
- The groomer cannot be held responsible for any accidents or mishaps resulting from non-disclosure of the pet’s medical condition or behaviour.
- It must be clearly understood and agreed that while every attention is given to your pet, they are accepted at the owner’s risk. Our first concern is the pet’s welfare so, in the event of injury or illness, a vet may be called in and unless it can clearly be shown that we are liable, all expenses incurred in carrying out of this instruction shall be at the owner’s expense. (We also recommend pet insurance).
- Payment is due on collection. Quotes/estimates are made on an average of dog breed or type but be aware that some pets may require extensive extra work which will be charged extra. Uncollected dogs will incur a sitting fee.
- While every care is taken, bitches that are pregnant are accepted for grooming at the owner’s risk.
- Behavioural challenges – some pets may require a longer appointment if they are excessively nervous or display difficult behaviour. Where possible, we will advise the owner of any price change before we begin.
- Aggressive dogs. We have experience in grooming aggressive and unpredictable dogs but we reserve the right to end the grooming should a dog become so aggressive that he/she is a danger to staff or to his or herself. Full or part charges may apply.Pre-existing conditions. We may uncover health issues while grooming your pet in which case we will share our recommended actions i.e. visit the vet. We are not veterinarians ourselves.
- We groom according to the owner’s specifications, as far as the dog will tolerate it and as far as their condition/coat allows. We will always place a dog’s welfare, comfort and safety before a certain grooming style. If we cannot groom to the exact style the owner wants, we will contact the owner to discuss a suitable alternative.
- If a friend or family member is bringing your pet in for you, please send written instructions or give us a quick call to confirm your requirements.
- We reserve the right to turn away clients that are more than 15 minutes late for their appointment.
- We recommend staying out of your pet’s sight if you arrive early to collect and find that he/ she is still on the grooming table. Your dog may become too excitable for us to finish grooming safely.
- Our team works tirelessly and treats all pets like their own. Any loud, abusive language or behaviour towards us or other customers will not be tolerated.
- When grooming is complete, if there is anything you want to be altered, please advise us before you leave. Minor changes are not a problem.
- We understand that emergencies arise but please give us at least 24 hours notice (if possible) if you need to cancel.
- Please note that we may take photos of your pet for use in our marketing material and on social media. As the customer, you agree to such photographs being taken and you approve such usage. If we cannot use your pet’s photos, please inform us in writing.
- We no longer take in dogs with choke collars or strip leads. Please rather use a harness or normal collar. If you do not own one, please let us know beforehand and we will make sure we have one available for your pup to use during their appointment.
